JBFA – Since 1978: Johor Bahru Furniture Association AI-Animated Brand Film

The Johor Bahru Furniture Association (JBFA) asked us for a short brand film that tells its story in under two minutes: who the association is, what it has built, and where it is heading. The theme is “Walking Together, Building Furniture Glory” (风华同行·共创家具辉煌).

There was no filming at all. The client gave us their archive and event still photographs, and every shot in the film was created by animating those stills with generative AI: gentle camera moves, natural micro-movement and clean, modern light. We then edited the shots to a rising orchestral score and narration.

The film in five acts

• 1978 – the founding: a black-and-white street scene of old Johor Bahru and the founders’ meeting photo
• Growing together: annual general meetings, the Lu Ban dinner, sports days, talks, study trips and bursary presentations
• Furniture fairs: from the first Persada Johor fair in 2007 to the Mid Valley hall, with 50,000+ visitors in three days and RM5 million in sales
• Culture and education: the Johor Furniture Heritage Gallery (opened September 2024) and the 2026 woodcraft workshop at Foon Yew High School
• The road ahead: the committee and members’ group photo, and a closing logo reveal built from green wood-grain particles
